Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections May Be Held In March 2024, Says CM Jagan Reddy
The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday announced the possibility of holding early assembly elections in March 2024. He revealed that the party's manifesto is set to be unveiled in February during a public gathering with ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) supporters at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada.
In his recent address, Reddy urged party leaders to prepare for the upcoming elections. He also expressed his unwavering faith in the people, the party cadre, and a higher power, asserting that he does not rely on alliances to secure electoral victories. He expressed strong confidence in the party's ability to secure another resounding mandate in the elections.

Furthermore, he unveiled plans for four extensive outreach programs, including "Why AP needs Jagan," "Jagananna Arogya Suraksha," and a bus tour, all scheduled for launch in November. The bus tour aims to inform the underprivileged about the government's initiatives on their behalf.
Reddy also announced a series of public meetings featuring leaders from SC/ST/BC/minority communities in all 175 constituencies, taking place from October 25 to December 31, with three meetings each day. He framed the upcoming contest as a class struggle rather than a caste conflict, pitting the impoverished against the affluent elite.
Reddy shared that his government plans to allocate Rs 31,000 crore to women's groups through various schemes, and starting from January 1, 2024, the welfare pension will be increased to Rs 3,000. He also disclosed that the YSR Cheyutha scheme will be initiated from January 10 to 20, disbursing Rs 19,000 crore to women. In the same timeframe, they will also disburse Rs 26,000 crore through the Asara program to provide financial assistance.
