Telangana seeks Rs 7900 cr loan from Nabard for pending irrigation projects

Hyderabad, Nov 15 Telangana Government today sought a loan of Rs 7,900 crore from NABARD for completion of 11 pending irrigation projects in the state.

State Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao made the request during a meeting with officials of NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), a government statement said.
The 11 projects are part of the 99 pending irrigation projects identified by the Central government across the country, he said.
The minister told the NABARD officials that the state government was facing some difficulties in accessing loans for the 11 projects under Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act as it is already availing other loans.
Loan is being sought from NABARD in view of the difficulties, he added.
