Puducherry lashed by 11 cm rainfall
Puducherry,Nov 16: Educational institutions in the Puducherry and Karaikal remained closed today in the wake of incessant rains.
The Union Territory recorded 11.09 cm rain in the last 24 hours ending 8.30 a.m today, official sources said. Although there was respite in the rains since 9 a.m, the sky remained overcast.

All schools and colleges remained closed today in Puducherry and Karaikal regions in response to the order issued yesterday by the Directorate of Education as a precautionary measure.
Normal life has been hit as Puducherry was battered by rains for some days. Chief Minister N.Rangasamy has directed the Directorate of Agriculture to make a fast assessment of the impact of the rains on horticulture crops.
