Rs 4.9 crore subsidy for Tripura rubber growers
Agartala, Aug 10: Rubber Board of India has granted Rs 4.9 crore as subsidy to 13,927 rubber growers in Tripura so far this year while 4,537 new growers have been provided allocation of Rs 55 lakh for fencing their rubber fields.
To ensure the benefit of mature plantation, Rs 2.60 lakh has been allotted for rubber sheeting roller mission and Rs 1.55 lakh for building smoke house, Brand officials here today said.
The Rubber Producer's Society has also been supported in forming Community Processing Centres for producing biogas and marketing of the produced goods, the Rubber Board of India officials said adding that the assistance could assure high-quality production besides imparting training on rubber processing and production of rubber honey.
At present 39669.82 hectares of land in Tripura were being used for rubber production.
