Fishing banned for two months in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, June 20: The Madhya Pradesh government has banned fishing in rivers and reservoirs for two months till August 15 to facilitate breeding during the monsoon season.

Fishing, sale-purchase and transportation of fish would remain banned between June 16 and August 15. Madhya Pradesh riverine fishing act provides for imprisonment of one year or fine of Rs 5,000 or both to those violating the ban order, official sources said.
