BJP demands Siddaramaiah's resignation
Tumkur, Nov 29: Staging separate protests, activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Karnataka Janata Paksha condemned the alleged anti-farmer policies of the State government and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Media reported that members of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha also staged a demonstration here demanding compensation of Rs. 20 lakh to the family of the sugarcane grower who committed suicide outside the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belgaum on Wednesday.

The BJP activists staging a demonstration at the Deputy Commissioner's office, mourned the farmer - Vittal Arabhavi's death and demanded that the government provide job to a member of his family.

BJP leader S. Shivaprasad demanded that the government address issues concerning farmers on priority.

KJP activists, who staged a demonstration at Town Hall Circle, in Bangalore, alleged that the government had failed to consider the sugarcane growers' dharna seriously and this resulted in the farmer's suicide.

The activists formed a human chain and burnt an effigy of Mr. Siddaramaiah at the circle.
