Walmart sued for a plastic bag?
Relating the entire thing to the press, he said that his wife had gone out grocery shopping at the Walmart Supercenter on 15th Street and had been handed just one plastic bag for two 42-ounce cans of La Choy and 2-pound bag of rice.
On her way to the car, the plastic bag ruptured and the content fell on her limbs making a cut. Despite antibiotics and surgeries, it got infected and she died in the hospital. The incident took place in 2010.
Now, William Freis wants justice for his wife Lynette and slapped lawsuits against Walmart and the plastic bag's manufacturer Hilex Poly Co. According to the Associated Press, the lawsuit states that the supermarket did not train its employees on how to fill customers' bags.
Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove, however, says otherwise: "Customer safety is a top priority, and we take it seriously any time an injury is reported in one of our stores."
