Terrorists open fire at army in Srinagar;4 killed, 7 injured

Srinagar, June 24: Terrorists open fire at an army convoy in Haiderpur ahead of the Prime Minister's visit.

Four army jawans were killed and seven injured in the brazen firing opened by a group of terrorists in Srinagar. Firing still going on and gun shots being heard from residential area.

Army convoy was fired at from both sides of the road. Army has cordoned off the Haiderpur area after the firing which is still on.

Terrorists open fire in Srinagar

According to reports, Hizbul Mujahideen has claimed the responsibility for the attack.

The attack comes a day ahead of high profile two-day visit of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Jammu and Kashmir during which he will inaugurate the railway section between Banihal and Qazigund.

Singh is scheduled to arrive here on June 25.
