MIT shooting: More shots, explosions heard in Watertown

Confusion prevailed in the area as officers reported gunfire, explosions and chaos at the intersection of Laurel and Dexter Streets, The Huffington Post reported. Heavily armed officers from Homeland Security were spotted in the area. FBI and National Guard personnel were also combing the area while a helicopter was deployed to light up the dark neighbourhood with help of searchlights.
Two suspects were arrested. The one who appeared to be naked, was apprehended first. A local person in Watertown said he had heard dozens of shots and at least two explosions, The Huffington Post reported.
A massive police operation was launched in the Boston area. A robot was brought in to investigate the scene for explosives.
Police urged all relatives to stay indoors. It was yet to be known if the killing of the police officer or the disturbance in the area had any link with the Boston marathon blasts of April 15.
