Texas: People rushing in from faraway places to help victims

About 50-75 houses were destroyed in the explosion while over 130 people from a nearby nursing home were evacuated. People were reportedly rushing in from faraway places in the late hours to help the victims of the explosion, the sound of which could be heard even from 70 kilometres away.
One report said that the fertiliser where the explosion took place had 100 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored inside. Local media sources said the impact of the explosion felt like a quake of 2.1 magnitude.
Jamie Moore from the Johnson County Emergency Management expressed condolences for the victims and asked people to remain indoors.
