Hyderabad scared of terror attack, police on alert
Anurag Sharma, the Police Commissioner, said that the police have taken all precautions to shield the city from any kind of attacks. Mr Sharma said, "We are alerting our forces and will intensify patrolling as a part of precautionary measures."
The commissioner also informed, "We have not got any such report from any intelligence agency. However, we remain alert to any such threat."
Earlier, a Pakistani Taliban had claimed to carry out attacks on Amritsar and Hyderabad to avenge Kasab's death on Indian soil within a month. Karnataka and Vaishno Devi were also on high terror alert. [Read: Kasab hanged: Vaishno Devi, Karnataka on high terror alert]
Intelligence Bureau (IB) had alerted all concerned officials who had tightened security in Karnataka and Vaishno Devi in Jammu.
Kasab, who was the lone surviving gunman of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, was hanged at Pune's Yerwada Jail on Nov 21. His execution is believed to have enraged several terror outfits who vowed to avenge his death.
