Pakistan: Famous Pashto singer, father shot dead

According to the relatives of the deceased singer, the unidentified men shot several times at her father and the singer, while she was leaving a beauty parlour in Dabgari Bazar. The men then escaped on their motorcycles.
The singer's younger sister, who was with them, however, escaped unhurt, said police.
The police is yet to ascertain the details of the attackers and establish who is behind the crime. They said that Ghazala Javed's relatives did not ask the police to file any charges against the culprits.
During the course of years, several singers and musicians in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province have been receiving threat by Taliban to give up music, who declared it "un-Islamic".
The police are also probing to see if her husband Javed had anything to do with the crime.
