'Petrol, diesel prices may be hiked this month'

General Secretary Prakash Karat on Sunday.

"The Centre may hike the prices of petrol and diesel in the last week of this month after the current Parliament session is over," said the senior CPI(M) leader at a rally at Panihati, North 24 paraganas district, West Bengal, to his party.

Lashing out at the Trinamool Congress, he said that whenever the issue of price rise came up, the former always went ballistic saying that it was not consulted before.

"TMC is part of the government but whenever there is rise in the prices of petrol, they would claim that they have not been consulted (by the government)," said Karat.
