New York, May 7: The seat of US power, the towering

structure that has withstood the test of times and witnessed the country turning into a global superpower has been listed in the open market for a whopping 110 million dollars. The estimation was made by a

area realtor. The White House has been the official residence of US presidents and their families since 1800.

The New York Daily News quoted Jason Koitz, a strategist with The Koitz Group, as telling the real estate website Movoto, “This would be an extreme luxury home. It would probably be 100 or 115 million dollars.” The real estate firm came to the figure taking into consideration the comparable sales in the Washington area. Another most expensive home in the area is a 21,000-square-foot mansion in McLean, Va., that has an estimated value of 45.5 million dollars.

The soaring White House has six levels and 132 rooms, 35 baths, 28 fireplaces and three elevators. Among the star amenities include a basketball court, tennis court, movie theater, bowling alley, swimming pool and jogging track.

The White House has been renovated nine times in its 212-year history. The major among them being President Harry S Truman overseeing the complete reconstruction of the building between 1948 and 1952.

Koitz also stated that the White House could sell for as much as a billion dollars, in lieu of the historical value of the property. He added that the process “to see what it could potentially fetch, would be astounding.”
