Nupur's bail plea was rejected on the grounds that she may tamper with evidence. Reports reveal that her conduct of missing the court sessions could also be another reason for the sessions court to reject her bail.

Nupur Talwar has been accused of killing her 14-year-old teenage daughter Aarushi Talwar and their domestic help Hemraj at their Noida residence in 2008. The case has remained unsolved since then and is suspected to a case of honour killing.
