After Delhi now major earthquake shakes Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 12: A major earthquake has been reported from Kashmir on Monday, Mar 12. The epicentre of the quake, which has been measured 5.6 in the Richter Scale, was Gilgit, a place in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The quake shook the valley at around 11:56 am on Monday. The tremor was felt in northern Pakistan. No major loss and property damages reports have yet been reported. [UPDATE: Unlucky 13: Earthquake again shakes Uttar Pradesh & Delhi]

"Magnitude 5.8 comes under moderate category, so there is no serious fear of aftershocks. But there could be a few. We do not expect destruction like the 2005 Kashmir quake. We have received reports of strong shocks from the northern part of Kashmir," said the director of the of seismology in the Indian Met department (IMD).

Another earthquake , measuring 4.9 on the Richter Scale, shook entire North India and especially the NCR region, i.e. New Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad on Mar 5.Earlier on Mar 5
