Yahoo to drop thousands of employees across the world

London, Mar 6: Yahoo Inc, the world's most visited website is planning to restructure the company which include laying off thousands of its employees from its payroll, said reports.

Reports further revealed that the move could come as early as the end of March. The layoffs could be from the department like Yahoo's public relations and marketing division, research and region-focused and other marginal businesses.

Meanwhile, the layoffs are likely to be above thousands. The struggling company has cited multiple sources inside and outside the company for the layoffs.

Moreover, the Internet giant had more than 14,000 employees at the end of 2011. It also has a large number of software contract workers whose jobs could also be affected in the shakeup.
