Anna aide Shehla Masood killed over extra marital affair?

Bhopal, Feb 29: Murder case of Shehla Masood, a Right to Information (RTI) activist and an aide to Anna Hazare, is believed to have been cracked by Bhopal police and sources claimed that she was killed over an extra marital affair.

Bhopal police along with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested three persons including a woman architect who has been identified as Zahida Pervez. [UPDATE: Shehla Masood's murderer killed; BJP MLA to be arrested?]

According to sources, Zahida allegedly hired contract killers and instructed them to kill Shehla as she (Zahida) suspected her husband of having an illicit relationship with Shehla. [UPDATE: Suspected BJP MLA was close to Shehla Masood?]

CBI on Tuesday, Feb 28 summoned Zahida for interrogation and later arrested her. According to CBI sources, Zahida gave Rs 3 lakh to the hired hitman.

Shehla, an RTI activist was a strong supporter of Anna Hazare and was an active member of India Against Corruption (IAC). Shehla was shot dead in Bhopal on Aug 16, 2011.

"I thank God. I have come to know through media reports. No one has officially told me about the arrest," said Shehla's father after citing the latest development in the case.
