2 Cong leaders booked for violating model code

Meerut, Feb 22: Two Congress candidates, including a party MP, have been booked for alleged violation of model code of conduct in Mavana area of the district.

Avtar Singh Bhadana, Congress MP from Faridabad district and the party candidate Gopal Kali were booked on the directions of EC, a police spokesman said. Both have violated model code by taking out a road show without a prior permission from the state election commission, he said.

They took out the procession on Tuesday after a rally addressed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. [Read More: Uttar Pradesh assembly election 2012].
