UP Poll: Priyanka Gandhi divides BJP minister, Uma Bharti?

Priyanka Gandhi
New Delhi, Feb 16: It seems that BJP ministers and Uma Bharti once again have been divided. If everything can be kept aside, they have been divided at least on their opinion on Priyanka Gandhi - the energetic face of Congress who grabbed a special niche for herself with her campaigning for the ongoing assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.

The split among BJP ministers and Uma came into the limelight when Babulal Gaur, Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Minister expressed that he was "impressed" with Priyanka. Uma had earlier criticised Priyanka calling her a "beggar".

Uma Bharti had said that Priyanka was "begging for votes with her two children" in Rae Bareli. However, Uma Bharti's statement irked Congress which slammed Uma Bharti on Thursday, Feb 16.

Congress party spokesperson Renuka Roychaudhury has been quoted as saying, "Perhaps she has more experience of begging by donning saffron and becoming a monk. She should self-instrospect. It does not suit her to do all this wearing saffron....there is no dignity. Such talks do not suit her stature."

Meanwhile, Mr Gaur has been quoted as saying, "It would have been better if the Congress had projected Priyanka in place of Rahul."

Talking about Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, he said that he saw no scope that BJP could win the elections adding that according to his assessment, he saw Samajwadi Party had good chance to stand out in the elections.
