10 more infants dead in WB; Mamata to quit Health portfolio?

Continuing the horrible trail, 10 more infants died in a hospital in the state. This time the incident happened in Bankura, a southern district in West Bengal. This time the infant deaths took place in Bankura Sammilani Medical College on Friday, Feb 3.
This time the state government showed malnutrition and under-weight as the reasons for the deaths. Mamata Banerjee had termed the continuous infant deaths in Bengal as "rumor".
Recently, 9 children died in a hospital in Malda, another district in West Bengal. Over 120 infants had died in January alone in several government hospitals in Malda. [Read: No lessons learnt; West Bengal sees 9 more infant deaths]
However, the CM, despite being criticised over the shocking and horrible issue of infant deaths, has not yet taken any immediate steps to avoid such incidents.
