Indian IT companies: TCS follows Infosys to Indore

Bangalore, Jan 24: Madhya Pradesh government permitted Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to set up a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Indore. After a meeting of the Board of Approval (BoA), a Commerce Ministry official said, "SEZ proposal by TCS has been cleared."

IT seems that TCS is following another software giant - Infosys as recently the state government declared that it will provide 130 acres of land instead of 100 acres to IT giant Infosys.

"We had shown Infosys 130 acre in Indore's super corridor. But during the meeting of a Group of Ministers in December last year, it was proposed to allot only 100 acre to the company. We accept it was a technical mistake," said Kailash Vijayvargiya, state Information Technology Minister.

Here it also can be mentioned that the Indore Development Authority (IDA), the nodal agency for land acquisition has cleared the proposal to handover about 100 acres of land to the Information Technology Department of state for Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
