MP: Clerk with Rs 14k monthly salary owns assets worth 14 cr

Ujjain, (MP), Jan 12: A lower division clerk in the Ujjain Municipal Corporation earning a monthly salary of Rs 14,000 was raided and found to have assets worth Rs 14 crore. The raid was conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta police on Thursday, Jan 12.

The Lokayukta team claimed that the clerk has two houses, two shops, two JCB machines, one dumber, one Tata Safari and several ornaments worth lakhs. Theclerk Kailash Sagte has been working in the municipal corporation since 27 years.

Sources said that police is still continuing its raids to get more clues on his movable and immovable assets.

Earlier, on Dec 24, 2011, the Madhya Pradesh's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had raided a clerk employed with the State Road Transport Authority and was found to own properties worth over Rs 40 crore.
