Mayawati sacked BSP minister cries for ticket

New Delhi, Jan 3: Avdesh Verma, former UP Minister and BSP member, who has been denied a ticket for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, lost control of his emotions and broke down in front of camera swearing that he was loyal to the BJP.

In a bid to come up with a clean image for the upcoming UP elections, Mayawati had sacked 21 ministers in the last six months.

Mayawati, in the last five years sacked 27 ministers out of 52.

Reports reveal that Avdesh Verma may now contest on BJP ticket, while Naresh Agarwal, Rajya Sabha member joined Samajwadi Party after his son was denied the BSP ticket.

"We do not depend on anyone for nominations. People in my constituency are with us," said former BSP MP Naresh Agarwal.

"She has sacked ministers who have indulged in corrupt practices for four and a half years, and given their portfolio to another corrupt minister," said Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has reportedly hired an agency for her image makeover so as to woo more voters, especially the upper class.

Rumours are doing the rounds that senior officers in the Mayawati government are chalking out a strategy to freshen up her image. [Read More: Major events, top news of 2011].
