India, Pakistan exchange nuclear facilities list

New Delhi, Jan 2: India and Pakistan on Jan 1 exchanged the list of nuclear installations and facilities under a two-decade-old pact. The pact is called Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear Installations between India and Pakistan through diplomatic Channel. [Read: Major events, top news of 2011]

A release from the Indian ministry of external affairs (MEA) said in New Delhi said that "India and Pakistan on Sunday, Jan 1 exchanged, through diplomatic channels simultaneously at New Delhi and Islamabad, the list of nuclear installations and facilities covered under the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear Installations between India and Pakistan."

The move has come after a two-day expert-level meeting on conventional and nuclear Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) between India and Pakistan in Islamabad last week.

Meanwhile, both sides also exchanged list of prisoners in jails in both countries. The prisoner's lists are exchanged twice a year.
