Woman executed with legal injection for running sex racket

Beijing, Dec 9: China has executed the female head of a gang that forced hundreds of women into sex trade by lethal injection. The lady, Wang Ziqi was sentenced to death in Aug 2010 for luring the women to work in brothels disguised as teahouses, beauty salons or hotels. The 35-year-old lady was arrested in 2008 at Guilin International Airport while trying to smuggle 3.3lbs of heroin from Malaysia.

According to the Chinese news site, over 300 women were forced into prostitution between 1994 to 2009 with seven dying in mysterious circumstances. The report also revealed that the gang gave training to women in prostitution skills.

The women were forced to work even when they had their period or had undergone forced abortions. If they refused, they were beaten and put in a dark room for days without food. The lady had appealed against her conviction, but was rejected and executed on Dec 8.

Sources said that the lady was led to a courtroom, where the sentence was read and she was taken to the death chamber in Liuzhou, two hours from the prison, where she was given a lethal injection.
