J Dey case: Mumbai crime branch quiz cops, journalists

The crime branch questioned the police officials as it found some call records which showed The Asian Age journalist Jigna Vora was in touch with those police officers, said an official. The team also questioned one of the journalists who was previously working in Mumbai and had shifted to Ahmedabad recently.
However, the official refused to tell the names of the people who were questioned by the crime branch.
MiD-DAY senior crime reporter Jyotirmoy Dey was shot dead on Jun 11 by few unidentified assailants. It was initially suspected that the oil mafia was behind his murder.
Jigna Vora, deputy bureau chief of The Asian Age was arrested for her alleged involvement in Dey's murder. It was revealed that she gave the details of Dey's bike number and his residential address to Chhota Rajan.
