Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against the hospital authorities. Sources also reveal that the hospital authorities fled following the tragedy.
Many reportedly died due to suffocation.
The major fire broke in the basement of the hospital at 3.30 am. Sources said that tenders reached the spot at 5.30 am.
This is the second such incident taking place at the hospital, with the first in 2008. The state government said that it will take stern action against the hospital management if they violated the safety norms.
