Army to reject youths with tattoos

New Delhi, Dec 8: An Army officer on Thursday (today) said that youths with tattoos on their bodies will not be recruited to the armed forces as it may lead to skin diseases.

Deputy Director General Recruitment (Punjab and JK) Brigadier Vinod Raizada said, "Instructions have been received that boys with tattoos anywhere on their bodies except hands will not be recruited (in the armed forces)."

He further said, "It has been seen recently that boys are going for tattoos which can spread skin diseases." The Brigadier claimed that out of 100 boys coming for Army, 30 were being rejected for body tattoos.

Meanwhile, Raizada said that those who have tattoos on hands will be recruited only if cleared in medical test.
