Pak minister thanks 'Taliban' for not bombing Shia ritual

Islambad, Dec 7: Pakistan Interior Minister, Rehman Malik thanked the Taliban militants for not interrupting this year's Shia ritual of Ashoura.

Talking to reporters he appealed to the Taliban for respecting the Shiite observances and thanked them for doing that.

"I am thankful to the Taliban who did not carry out any attack on Shia Muslims and showed respect to their rituals," Malik was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

"I hope they would also remain peaceful in future, lay down arms and work together with us for the security of the country," he said.

The Pakistani terror outift, Taliban has in past carried out bomb attacks on processions taken out by Shiite groups on the eve of Ashoura.
