Three persons mowed down by Kerala minister's car

Kochi, Nov 21: Kerala Minister K C Joseph's car on Sunday (Nov 20) allegedly mowed down three people, two of whom died on the spot and another was injured. The tragic incident occurred at Karayamparambu in Angamaly at around 7 pm when State Rural Development Minister Joseph was on his way to Nedumbasserry airport from Thrissur. The mishap occurred when the three persons were crossing the road.

Reacting to the mishap, Joseph said, "It was a straight road. We couldn't anticipate this. We didn't even see them coming onto the road. They were hit and thrown back with the force."

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the car driver under sections 279 and 304 (A) of IPC for rash and negligent driving. Moreover, the minster, who was to catch a flight to Delhi to meet Prime minister, has cancelled his trip.

Protests broke out near Kochi against the incident where protesters blocked traffic on the National Highway.
