Strange India: Jessica killed; Killer free to enjoy wedding

New Delhi, Nov 21: Model Jessica Lal's killer - Manu Sharma has once again walked out of Tihar jail as his 5-day parole started from Monday, Nov 21. Now, the killer would enjoy his brother's marriage ceremony.

However, the Delhi High Court ruled that Manu Sharma should not travel outside Karnal, Chandigrah and Ambala where the wedding ceremonies would take place. He is also barred from visiting night clubs and pubs while on parole.

Here it can be recalled that Sharma's earlier sojourn on parole in 2009 had seen him picking up a fight in a five star hotel in a midnight brawl after he went to a pub. The fact that this time around his parole plea was not opposed by the Delhi police had surprised all.

The granting of the parole was faced with severe criticism across all sections of society. Some views were that how can a criminal attend social functions with little regard to the sentiments of the victims family.
