Prostitution: Kasauti actress charged Rs 1.5 lakh per hour

Pune, Nov 21: Small time television actress, who was held in a high profile sex racket on Nov 19 in a raid, charged Rs 1.5 lakh per hour from her customers, said Bhanupratap Barge, Inspector, Crime Branch, Pune.

The 21-year-old actress, Azhara Jan Gulam Ahmed Sheikh aka Zara, who hails from Kashmir was arrested along with a spot boy from the industry, Niraj Ashok Badhani, alleged to be a pimp under Sections 4, 5, 8 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act, (PITA) 1986, as reported by the MiD DAY.

A case against the accused has been registered with the Bundgarden police and Badhani has been remanded to judicial custody till Nov 23.

Fighting in favour of the arrested actress, the public prosecutor said that it was necessary to investigate if there were any conspirators in the prostitution racket.

He also said that the actresses' call details should be verified. The demand was however rejected and the actress has been sent to magisterial custody.

The incident came to light when constable Ashok Takalkar, acting on a tip off led by inspector Bhanupratap Barge, laid a trap to nab the culprits at a five star hotel on Raj Bahadur Mill Road.

According to the police, Zara revealed that she acted in several television serials and also acted in a bollywood movie, Lamha.
