Prostitution: Jailed Kasauti Zindegi Ki actress' details

Pune, Nov 21: The 21-year-old actress, Azhara Jan Gulam Ahmed Sheikh aka Zara, who has been arrested in Pune over a prostitution racket, has been lodged in Pune's Yerawada central prison under magisterial custody.

Zara hails from Kashmir and acted in a popular TV serial - Kasauti Zindegi Ki in Star Plus and also acted in Bollywood movie - Lamhe.

Zara was arrested along with a spot boy from the industry, Niraj Ashok Badhani, alleged to be a pimp under Sections 4, 5, 8 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act, (PITA) 1986.

After a raid at a hotel near Pune railway station, police arrested the duo and also informed that the two accused charged Rs 1.5 lakh per hour from her customers.

The incident came into light when constable Ashok Takalkar, acting on a tip off led by inspector Bhanupratap Barge, laid a trap to nab the culprits at a five star hotel on Raj Bahadur Mill Road.
