Jayalalithaa gets relief after 20 yrs, HC quashes Gifts case

Jayalalithaa allegedly received drafts worth Rs 2 crore from 57 people on her birthday in 1992. Following the development, the investigative agency Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed the case against the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
Earlier it was reported that many overruled purchasing such drafts, while many names were found to be fictitious.
Meanwhile, Jayalalithaa moved the High Court seeking the dismissal of the case showing 14-year delay in filing of chargesheet.
On Friday, the High Court finally quashed the case against the CM along with two other AIADMK leaders - Sengottaiyan and Alagu Thirunavukarassu.
