Cash-for-votes: Ex-MPs Bhagora, Kulaste to receive breather?

New Delhi, Sept 29: Former BJP MPs Mahavir Singh Bhagora and Faggan Singh Kulaste might receive a breather since a Delhi Court is likely to hear the bail plea of the two accused over their alleged role in 2008 Cash-for-vote-scam. Delhi Police is also likely to file a supplementary chargesheet about the probe conducted into the money trail.

LK Advani and Arun Jaitley on Wednesday, Sept 28 met another Cash-for-vote accused Sudheer Kulkarni, who is currently lodged in Tihar jail. They also met Bhagora and Kulaste. “They have not done any wrong, they were only trying to expose a scam where money was being given either to abstain or vote during the trust vote motion against the UPA-I government in July 2008. If they had intended to keep the money with them why would they have gone to the floor of Parliament with the bribe amount," said Jaitley.

On the other hand, former Samajwadi leader Amar Singh, whose bail plea was rejected on Wednesday, Sept 28, will will have to return to the Tihar jail. The court overruled Amar Singh's plea for granting permission to travel abroad for further treatment.
