New controversy: JK CM Abdullah spent Rs 11 cr for ex-PoK PM

Omar Abdullah
Srinagar, Sept 22: Jammu Kashmir CM, Omar Abdullah landed in a fresh controversy when an RTI report claimed that he had spent Rs 11 crore money on former Prime Minister of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Sultan Mehmood Chowdhary's helicopter ride during a personal tour.

The RTI (Right To Information) report says that Omar spent Rs 11 crore money to make Chowdhury happy during his (former PoK PM) personal visit to India. The report also says that Omar's close aide, Home Minister Nasir Aslam also had accompanied the former PoK PM.

Speaking to a TV channel, Chowdhury confirmed Omar's contribution of money during his India visit. "I met the CM accidentally at a marriage and expressed my desire to visit Pahalgam. My host talked to Omar Abdullah and he agreed to facilitate my trip," said the ex-PoK PM.

Abdullah, who recently faced several controversies over his divorce and marriage speculation, may face stern criticism from all critics as Chowdhury is believed to be a close friend of the separatists in the valley.
