Goa: 3-year-old-raped by 30-year-old man

Panaji, Jul 27: A 30-year-old man has been arrested by the Agasaim police for the rape of a three-and-half-year old girl on Jul 26 at Goa Velha.

According to the police, the minor was playing with the son of the accused after which the accused called her to his house.

"The accused coaxed the girl to come alone into the house. Once in the room, he forcibly removed the minor's slacks, then removed his pants and raped the girl," said the police.

The victim's mother said that she heard her daughter crying after which she tried searching her frantically, upon entering her neighbour's house, she found her daughter being raped.

"She freed her daughter from the accused and rushed out of the house. They were scared and upset. The complainant waited for her husband, who works as a daily wage worker, to return home and when he reached home at about 10.30pm, they decided to lodge a police complaint," said the police.

The child was then taken to Goa Medical college and Hospital for examination and later a rape was confirmed.

"We immediately sent a police team to search for the accused and he was arrested," added the police.
