Mother kills two-year-old son out of frustration

Yamunanagar, Jul 25: In a recent incident in Yamunanagar, Haryana, a mother poisoned her minor children and then attempted suicide by consuming poison herself on Sunday, Jul 24. The two-year-old son died on spot, while the mother and the six-year-old daughter have been admitted to the trauma centre, Yamunanagar.

Poonam, a resident of Vijay Colony, Jagadhri, was reportedly frustrated over her husband's drinking habit and was facing financial problems.

According to the police sources, Poonam swallowed poison, after poisoning her son Dipansu and daughter Priyanshi. Poonam's husband Pradeep, who had gone out, took his wife and children to the hospital.

On receiving information, Budhia police post incharge Devender Rana visited the hospital. "We are unable to say anything right now. Initial inquiry found that Poonam was a victim of family quarrel. The woman and daughter are unconscious Investigations are on," Budhia said.
