Team Anna to brief BJP leaders on Lokpal Bill

New Delhi, Jun 28: In a bid to garner support for their version of the Lokpal Bill, team Anna will make a presentation before representatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party on July 1. They will make a comparative presentation of their and the government's version of the bill.

Kiran Bedi, a member of the Civil Society which is also known as Team Anna, informed a news channel that they had been invited by BJP leader L K Advani and would be meeting him on July 1.

She said, "Team Advani has invited team Anna to make a presentation of the jan lokpal bill on July 1. We would be meeting them and not be shying away, undermining or overtaking anything."

And added, "We'll present the jan lokpal bill and the government proposition clause by clause and leave it to them to form their opinion."

Santosh Hegde, another member of the Civil Society and a former justice of the Supreme Court Of India, said that team Anna was trying to meet various political parties to explain their stand on the Lokpal Bill.

He said, "We are trying to meet political parties and explaining to them our stand, so that the parties would not be misled by the presentation of the government."

The former Solicitor General of India also warned the government against giving more leverage to their own version of the bill and said, "If the government is going to indulge in these type of activities, I think we will have to protest against that."
