'Lame' PM becomes media friendly, press conference every week
The first such meeting with the media personnel will be held on Wednesday, Jun 29 and eight editors from main stream media are expected to be present in the press meet. The meeting is expected to be held in the PM's residence in the national capital at 4 pm.
Singh has so far been criticised over his hide and seek attitude with media in several cases. Recently, PM's silence over Lokpal draft issue had created controversy in the country.
Now, it seems that UPA government, citing the nation-wide rage against the PM and his government, has attempted a fresh Private Relation (PR) strategy to foster its deteriorating image.
Earlier, media reports had claimed that Congress Working Committee (CWC) advised the PM to interact with people through media more frequently.
Last time the PM had attended a similar kind of press conference in Feb 2011 where he first broke his silence on 2G spectrum scam and tried to overrule Opposition party leaders' criticism on him as "lame PM."
