Pre-order Samsung, Acer Chromebooks NOW

California, Jun 12: The Android maker Google said that the new chrome books running on Google Chrome operating system are available for pre-ordering at Amazon.com and BestBuy.com.

Google made the announcement through its Twitter account, saying that Chromebooks from both Acer and Samsung are available.

"Nothing but the web: Samsung & Acer #Chromebooks now available for pre-order from @Amazon and @BestBuy in the US," GoogleChrome tweeted.

Users can pre-order for the innovative product Samsung Series 5 3G at $499.99 and the Samsung Series 5 Wi-Fi with a price tag of $429.99 at Amazon.com. Also, it offers Acer's Cromia 3G for $449.99 and Cromia Wi-Fi for $379.99.

BestBuy takes pre-order for Samsung Series 5 3G and Samsung Series 5 Wi-Fi with same price tag. They have not yet started pre-order for Acer Chromebooks.

Google announced the launch of Chromebooks with the brand new operating system Chrome OS during their I/O Developers Conference. The Chrome OS is Google's innovation against world's most popular operating system Microsoft Windows.

In Chrome OS, tasks such as installing software, running anti-virus checks and data back-up would be handled by the always-on cloud services offered by Google. Chrome OS is the first consumer operating system designed from the ground up to defend against the ongoing threat of malware and viruses.
