Madurai, June 12: Continuing the Congress-DMK alliance in Tamil Nadu will not do any good for the Dravidian party and its allies, according to founder leader of Dalit outfit Vidhulai Chiruthaikal Katchi (VCK) Thol Thirumavalavan.

He opined that the hard-bargaining of the Congress prior to the April 13 assembly polls had led to a discomfort between Congress and DMK cadres, which affected electioneering.

Welcoming the Tamil Nadu assembly resolution seeking economic sanctions on Sri Lanka on Tamils issue, he said the AIADMK government should pressurise the Centre to make it a reality.

On the scheme of giving four gram gold for mangalsutra for girls getting married,he demanded that the family income ceiling be raised to at least to Rs 50000 instead of Rs 24,000 to prevent corruption while issuing income certificates.

He hailed the interim stay to the resolution passed by the State to postpone implementation of Uniform School Education system.
