Strauss Khan's semen found on maid's shirt

New York, May 24: Making it difficult for former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, to escape the alleged rape charges, investigators have matched his DNA samples with the DNA found on the clothes of the hotel maid, who accused him of sexual assault.

Quoting sources close to the investigation, a United States media reported that DNA samples from the semen found on the shirt of the 32-year-old maid at the New York hotel were matching with Strauss-Kahn's DNA.

Anyhow, legal experts opinionated that the evidence could prove the sexual encounter between Strauss-Kahn and maid, but do not justify the rape allegations. Semen found on maid's shirt may have various explanations, including consensual sexual act between the two.

Strauss-Kahn, who denied the charges of rape allegations as soon as it popped on May 14, continued to traverse the charges of rape even as his DNA samples were found on the maid's dress.

62-year-old Strauss-Khan, who was released from the jail on May 21 after being granted bail on USD 1 million cash bond, is currently under house arrest. Khan was considered as the Socialist Party's candidate for French presidential election in 2012.

Earlier, media reported that Strauss Khan hired a team of private investigators to inquire the personal history of the hotel maid, who accused Khan of attempted rape.
