Bangalore Central Crime Branch unmasks sex racket
Bangalore, May 23: After Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi, the IT city, Bangalore also has been witnessing the rise of prostitution. The Central Crime Branch on Saturday, May 21, raided a star Hotel at Brigade road, Bangalore, where they busted a prostitution racket.
Three young sex workers and a 37-years-old receptionist has been taken into custody by the anti-narcotics department of the Bangalore Central Crime Branch.
A group that operated the entire procedure of sex racket, solicited customers across the country through its website www.bangaloreescortservices.com.
The procedure was such that the key person or the backbone of this racket, Delhi-based Rakesh, supplied call girls from different metropolitan cities. Then, they would contact their customers online, providing them phone numbers. With the help of the hotel's receptionist Agnes, they ran the business.
Kumar and Michael, the two other men, used to handle the business in Bangalore by arranging different classy hotels. They ran their business by escorting the customers to their respective rooms on receiving the payments.
In fact, a Mumbai-based call girl was residing in the hotel since last week as she was on a 10 days contract, who ended up earning a lump sum amount of around Rs 1.8 lakh as revealed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, R Lakshman.
On receiving the information about the online sex workers, the police made a cold-blooded plan in order to arrest the entire gang. They contacted Kumar at his phone number given in the website, who directed him to Mary Agnes, the receptionist of the hotel. But, the police decoy rejected the girls provided by Agnes. He was then sent to another hotel at Seshadripuram for a better option. It was then, the girls including the receptionist were caught red-handed.
Though Rakesh and Michael were lucky to escape, the police is still trying its best to track the major names involved in this racket.
