TEPCO releases photos of tsunami hitting Japan nuclear plant

Tokyo, May 20: Ever wondered what happened when disaster struck Japan and threatened to damage an entire nuclear establishment thus jeopardising the health and safety of millions.

has released a series of photographs to show the sequence of events that left the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant crippled.

It can be recollected that on March 11, Japan was struck by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake in its north-eastern coast which subsequently triggered off an even more destructive tsunami that has left an estimated 24,000 dead.
