Three killed in naval dockyard mishap in AP

Vishakhapatnam (AP), May 18: Three persons including two Navy officers were killed and another injured when a docking gate collapsed in the Ship Building Center inside the Vishakapatnam Naval Dockyard on Wednesday, May 18.

The docking gate, which was meant to take sea water into the dry dock collapsed during routine operations, resulting in the death of two officers and a sailor. Another sailor was injured in the incident, a release from the Indian Navy said.

The cause of the accident and other details are yet to be ascertained, it said.

Unconfirmed reports said that there were 20-25 persons working at the time of the incident.
