Washington, Apr 30: The world witnessed one of the fat-weddings when Prince William and Kate Middleton took the marital vows on Friday, Apr 29. Many big personalities from different parts of the world including the Prime Minister David Cameron were present at the royal wedding. But it had surprised many when US President Barack Obama and his better-half Michael's names were not enlisted.

Though the British royal family had missed the Obamas to invite, the US couple did not miss to wish the newly-married couple - the Dutch and Duchess of Cambridge - William and Kate.

While William and Kate were busy attending their other royal guests and parties with friends and family till the wee hours of Saturday, Apr 30, Obamas wished the newly-weds "a lifetime of happiness together".

A White House spokesperson on Saturday informed, "The United States has no closer friend in the world than the United Kingdom." He also added, "On this occasion, the American people extend heartfelt congratulations to the peoples of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth and share in their hopes for a bright future for the royal couple."
