Apple starts iPad 2 sales: Book NOW on Apple Online Stores

New York, Mar 11: Finally, the King of tablets, Apple iPad 2 set for its public run. The iPhone maker Apple started the sale of second generation iPad in United States. Users can buy the iPad 2 from Apple Stores, Verizon, AT&T and the retailer giants like Wal-mart, Best Buy and Target.

Amid the surge of Android tablets, Apple plans to continue its domination in tablet market with the new iPad 2. Also, Apple plans to start the iPad 2 sales through online from the day first itself. Apple officials said that those who want to avoid the rush and long queue in front of Apple stores and other retailers can order the iPad 2 through Apple online store.

After series of leaks and rumors, Apple announced the launch of iPad 2 on Mar 2. The new iPad 2 is said to be more "Lighter, Faster and Thinner". Apple added exciting features on the new iPad and made it competitive with Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which run on Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS. The new dual core A5 processor makes the iPad 2 nine times faster than the previous version.

The iPad 2 boasts two cameras that support FaceTime video call and the rear camera is capable of recording 720p HD video up to 30 frames per second with audio and supports still camera with 5x digital zoom. Thus new tablet has a Smart Cover that acts as a protection to the screen and a stand for typing or viewing videos.

iPad 2 runs on Apple's latest operating system, iOS 4.3, which surfaced on Mar 9 for other Apple devices like iPhone, iPod Touch etc. The new iOS 4.3 brings additional features like iTunes Home Sharing, faster Safari web browser, Personal Hotspot etc.

Apple has not yet announced the release date of iPad 2 in India. Earlier, Apple introduced the first version iPad in India in Jan 2011, nearly 10 months after its launch in US. Later, with the launch iPad 2, apple slashed the price of iPad in India. Market analysts have the opinion that to tackle the popularity of Android tablets, Apple may introduce the iPad 2 early in Asian markets. At the same time, Apple announced that it will start iPad 2 sales in European countries like Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico etc by Mar 25.
