Radhika killer nailed; Delhi police claim breakthrough

New Delhi, Mar 11: After altercations and widespread accusations against the Delhi Police on the late intervention and lack of proper probe in the Radhika Tanwar case, they have finally been able to make a breakthrough in the case. They have revealed the identity of the man believed to be the killer of the Delhi University student who was shot at near her college.

Vijay, alias Ram Singh has been accused of the cold-blooded murder of Radhika. The man, according to police sources is mentally unstable and is between 25 to 26 years old. The reason for the murder is personal vengeance after Radhika humiliated him by slapping him in public.

The police had earlier arrested two accomplices of Vijay, Ashraf and Tabrez who helped him carry out the shoot-out.

The police also claimed that Vijay had changed his name after coming to Delhi with the police suspecting that he might have been involved in many other violent incidents in his family. The reason for the grouse against Radhika is that she had slapped Vijay a few weeks ago and he wanted to take revenge for the humiliation she caused. The police also supported the victims statement based on their own evidence in the matter.

There were protests and rallies seeking justice for Radhika by University students and others. The family also raised allegations against the Delhi police for not being proactive in handling the case.
